Funding for postgraduate study in the arts, humanities and social sciences

Some technical courses, for example the Graduate Diploma/MA in Translation Studies at DCU, are eligible for reduced fees under the Graduate Skills Conversion Programme (www.hea.ie). The Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences (IRCHSS) is the main funding body for research in the Republic of Ireland with awards up to €16,000 (www.irchss.ie). For Northern Ireland, the Arts and Humanities Research Council has a series of awards for research and postgraduate training in the UK (www.ahrc.ac.uk).
