Further study and your career
A postgraduate qualification is not an automatic green card for a fast track-career, but for some jobs – for example those that provide professional training – it may be essential.
Even when a course is not related to a specific career, it may still bring benefits when looking for work. While a postgraduate qualification does not guarantee a job, it can be valued by employers if you present it as part of a carefully-considered decision and can clearly explain its 'added value' in terms of the skills you've developed. It could be useful to think a few years down the line and how you might respond to the question: 'why did you choose to study your postgraduate programme?'.
